Bringing Order to the Legal World.
Paralegals increase the efficiency of a legal firm by performing various tasks like legal research, drafting documents, and maintaining client records. They often help lawyers prepare for hearings, trials and meetings. To excel in the legal field, paralegals need to have an eye for detail, be skilled organizers, and be able to work on a team.
During the 16-month Associate of Applied Science degree program at Minneapolis Business College, you can learn important skills and legal concepts, including:
- Tort, Family, Bankruptcy and Criminal Law
- Litigation Procedures
- Conducting legal research
- Drafting contracts
The 16-month program is designed so you spend the majority of your time learning skills directly related to a career in the legal world. You will also spend 8-weeks in an externship where you can practice what you’ve learned while making valuable legal contacts.
